Osaka Museum of History
Traversing the Osaka history, from ancient times to the modern era
A highrise museum that stands on the remains of the ancient Naniwa-no-Miya Palace. The permanent exhibition introduces “Osaka city's” history and culture from ancient times to today through models and actual artifacts. There is a wealth of experiential learning and guides of the palace remains provided through volunteer work.

Look to nature and enjoy learning
A museum specializing in natural history centered on themes of “The Natural World around US”, “The History of the Earth and the Evolution of Life”, “Evolution and the Diversity of Life”, “The Lives of Living Things”, “Nature of OSAKA”. Visitors can experience the birth and evolution of familiar organisms, and learn how environments are made and how to interact with them.

Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts
Come face-to-face with perspectives of various collectors!
A historically and traditionally rich museum that opened in 1936. The museum has approximately 8,400 permanently displayed pieces in its collection consisting of Japanese and Chinese paintings, sculptures, and crafts acquired through purchase and donations, as well as works that have been entrusted to the museum from temples and shrines.

Osaka Castle Museum
Feast your eyes on the epic era of the samurai
The Osaka Castle, which is the symbol of Osaka, contains approximately 10,000 artifacts from the Sengoku Era, which includes items that have been traced to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Each floor has easy-to-understand displays of Hideyoshi's life, as well as battles during the Sengoku Era.

Osaka Tennoji Zoo
Experience an African savannah in the city!
A zoo that opened in 1915, and has the 3rd longest history of zoos operating in Japan. Its “ecological exhibitions”, which reproduces the animals' natural habitat as faithfully as possible and introduces the animals that live there, is popular.

The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living
Why don't you travel back in time to the town of Osaka in the Edo era?
Japan's first specialized museum with the theme of “the culture and history of housing as well as living”. The “Seasonal chronical of a Naniwa townhouse” located in the 9th floor exhibition hall is a life-size recreation of an Osaka townscape in the first years of Tempo (first half of the 1830s) during the Edo period.

Teaching the Osaka of the future about the Osaka of the past
The Association conducts excavation investigations on the remains of the Naniwa-no-Miya Palace, as well as other historical remains within Osaka City. We also conduct investigative research on various cultural artifacts and preserve them scientifically, and exhibit their results in the Osaka Museum of History as well as other locations within the Osaka city.
